Renée Higdon

Assistant Director, Grant Services

I am Renée Higdon, the Assistant Director of Grant Services. I manage a team of professionals that conduct charity outreach and application management for the validation process at CAF America. Since 2018, I have served on the Grant Services Team managing charity validations for both CAF America and CAF Canada.


Prior to joining CAF America, I worked as both a photographer and secondary school teacher before completing a bilingual degree in Humanities and Curatorial Studies from the University of Navarra in Pamplona, Spain. My experience collaborating as a photographer with Creamos, a social entrepreneurship program that offers dignified income-generating opportunities for young women and mothers in the Guatemala City garbage dump community, inspired me to continue my work in the non-profit sector.


In my spare time, I am a traveler, photographer, film enthusiast, salsa dancer, and professional thrifter. Living and studying abroad provided me with the opportunity to gain a global perspective, meeting people from around the world and gaining insight into the manifold needs of their home communities and I am happy that my work at CAF America can be a vehicle for the betterment of the world through the generosity of donors and the good, honest work of so many charities.

I am certified in Anti-Money Laundering (AML/CFT) by the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
