Betsy Hanlon

Advisor to the President & CEO

I am Betsy Hanlon, Advisor to the President and CEO. I am a senior financial executive who has held financial, strategic and administrative positions with private, public and non-profit companies. Most recently, I served as interim CFO for CAF America following my retirement from the CFO position at Climate Advisers, Inc., where I was responsible for several functions, including finance, human resources, contracts, facilities, and IT.

Previously, I was COO for Grayling, a subsidiary of Huntsworth PLC, an international communications group, and held senior positions with Cambridge Information Group (“CIG”). Earlier in my career, I was associated with prominent telecommunications, public relations, biomedical, and law firms in the DC area. I began my career at Price Waterhouse in Philadelphia.

I am a graduate of the College of William and Mary with a BA in Philosophy, I hold an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Nonprofit Executive Management Certificate from Georgetown University.

I currently serve as Chair of the Board of Directors of Center City Public Charter Schools and have served on other non-profit Boards and as a consultant to a number of local non-profits through Compass DC.  I am happy to give back to my community in DC and share my talents with organizations that are effecting change in the world.

In my spare time I enjoy fitness (specifically OrangeTheory, barre, yoga, and cycle), music (I sing in Choralis), theater, taking classes in things I haven’t studied before, traveling, reading, and surprisingly, Hallmark Christmas movies.
