April Young

Financial Controller

As the Financial Controller, I am dedicated to developing and implementing internal controls and processes to ensure the most accurate accounting for CAF America.  I prepare forecasts, budgets as well as financial reports. Additionally, I manage the accounting for the investments at CAF America.

Prior to joining CAF America, I worked for two Fortune 500 companies, local Government and as an independent consultant for a variety of mid-size and startup companies.

I have served as Treasurer for six different nonprofits. I am currently serving as the Treasurer and Chairman of the Finance Committee for the Knox County Master Gardeners and for the Feral Feline Friends of East Tennessee. Occasionally, I am permitted to volunteer something other than my accounting skills and have volunteered with various groups including The Humane Society, Band Boosters, NCST, Baby Gowns for Eternity, and as a gardener at our local community gardens. I am passionate about animal welfare, environmental issues and food insecurity.

My hobbies include: making jigsaw puzzles, solving logic puzzles, ballroom dancing, gardening, bird watching, poorly sewing, DIY home improvement, and traveling.

I hold a BS is Accounting from Roosevelt University and am a registered CPA with the state of Illinois.
