Latest from Congress: IRA Charitable Rollover is Now Law

Tags: , , ,

United_States_Capitol_-_west_frontJust in time for your year-end giving, Congress has passed and the President has signed, the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act of 2015.

The Act has rendered the once temporary and subject to yearly renewal, IRA Charitable Rollover, permanent law. In line with the Act’s “Incentives for Charitable Giving” section,  US citizens over 70½ years old are able to make donations up to $100,000 per year from their IRAs without treating the distribution as taxable income.

This is great news for philanthropy as it allows those who meet this criteria to incorporate the IRA charitable rollover as a part of their long-term giving strategy.

CAF America stands ready to assist you in making your year-end donations. Having trouble deciding where or how to give? Feel free to call our office at (202)793-2232 (CAFA).
